Hakim asks Mufti to come clear on Rajnath’s statement

Also urged JK govt to clear its stand on setting up of AIIMS and PRC issue

Srinagar, Apr 29: Peoples Democratic Front (PDF) president and MLA Khansahib Hakim Mohammad Yasin Wednesday asked Jammu and Kashmir government to come clear on the statement of Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh that Chief Minister Mufti Muhammad Sayeed has promised to earmark 50 acres of land (400 kanals) as a first instalment for rehabilitation of displaced Kashmiri Pandits.

In a statement to media Hakim Yasin said, “Recently Mufti sahib on the floor of Assembly categorically stated that there is no question of providing land for separate colonies for Kashmir Pandits. He (Muft) also said that no land has been identified. We welcomed the statement. Nor Rajnath Singh says Mufti has promised to provide land.”

“I want to ask whether Rajnath Singh is right or Mufti sahib. I urge Hon’ble Chief Minister to come clear on the issue so that the confusion which has been created in the minds of people of J&K is cleared,” he added.

Similarly, he urged Mufti to come clear on the issue of setting up of AIIMS in Kashmir. “Recently MoS in Prime Minister’s Office Dr Jatinedra Singh stated that AIIMS was actually meant for Jammu. Why is politics being played over the issue,” Hakim Yasin asked.

“When IIT and IIM was sanctioned for Jammu we didn’t raise any objections over it as both Jammu and Kashmir are one. Now when the AIIMS has been sanctioned for Kashmir why both PDP and BJP are playing politics over it. Why are Kashmiris being taken far granted,” the PDF chief added.

He also asked the state government to come clear over the issuance of Permanent Residence Certificates (PRCs) through schools. “Let government come clear on this issue also as it has created a lot of doubts in the minds of people,” he said.
