What could be the situation of a common people in a state like Jammu and Kashmir where the law secretary is even bundled in the car and taken to a police station without any reasons known to him? This incident amply describes the fate of a common man and the heat people are facing at the hands of police.
State law secretary Mohammad Ahsraf Mir’s car was intercepted by police outside Civil Secretariat and took him to nearby Shaheed Gunj Police Station for unknown reasons.
Sources said that even though Mir’s driver repeatedly asked the police cops that the person in car is law secretary of state, but police personnel paid no heed and took Mir, along his official vehicle, to the police station.
The news in no time spread like a wild fire in the Civil Secretariat. The said police officer was reportedly immediately transferred to the district police headquarter and another police official was attached to the police station.
Other officials in Civil Secretariat demand an immediate inquiry and dismissal of the police officials who took the law secretary to police station.
“If this can happen to the law secretary of state,” an official said and added “then the fate of a common man can only be imagined in Kashmir.”
Later, after walking out of the police station, the law secretary straightaway met Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and apprised him about the development.
