India, China Agrees Disengaging of Troops at Pangong Lake

Srinagar 11 February (KNB): Following a long standoff between Indian Army and People’s Liberation Army at Line of Actual Control in Ladakh, the disengagement of troops at Ladakh’s Pangong Tso lake has been agreed by both countries, said Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday in parliament.

Singh said during the parliament proceeding today that disengagement of troops at north and south banks of Pangong Tso lake has been reached after long talks.

However, the Defence Ministry of China has also maintained that the forces were yesterday disengaged from the banks of the lake.

Pertinently, the tensions on the border in Ladakh region had escalated after the troops of two sides went into clashes with each other on 15th June last year, resulting in the deaths of 20 soldiers of Indian Army.

Rajnath Singh further said in parliament that he is happy that nothing has been lost while dialoguing with China. (KNB)
