Ganderbal 21 Oct(KNB): Ganderbal police on Friday said that they have solved a hit-and-run case and have arrested the accused within two hours in which a 4 year old girl was killed and his father was referred with SKIMS Hospital for further treatment.
A Police spokesperson said in a statement issued to news agency Kashmir News Bureau-KNB that
Today at 18:20 hours an accident took place at NHW near Naitang Lar Ganderbal.
A Scooty bearing Registration No jko5J 0306 driven by Firdous Ahmad Magray S/O Ghulam Mohammad R/O Lar was hit by an unknown vehicle which escaped from the spot. The scooty rider and his 4 year old daughter namely Zahira Firdous got injured and were immediately rushed to the DH Ganderbal where doctors declared the said girl brought dead and her father was referred to SKIMS Soura Srinagar for advanced Treatment, statement said.
Ganderbal Police swiftly started an hot pursuit of the unknown driver and vehicle. Within an span of two hours
the vehicle and the driver involved in the incident namely Mushtaq Ahmad Quraishi S/O Mohammad Yousuf R/O Chanthan Gulabpora Lar was arrested by P/s Lar.
The vehicle bearing registration no JK04E 7377 has been seized and the investigation has been intimated in case FIR No.63 of P/s Lar Ganderbal.
The prompt and swift response by Ganderbal Police was praised by one and all, statement added.(KNB)
