Here’s How A Top Kashmiri Corporate House Ruined Life Of A Poor Employee

Dishonouring Court Order!

After ten years of his fight against ‘injustice’, Fayaz Ahmad Shah now falls prey to the dishonoring of court orders by a leading Kashmir-based corporate house.

It was in May, 2005 that Fayaz was illegally terminated from Mustaq Group of Hotels in Srinagar, which he had served for a decade. Since then he had been toiling to fight against the injustice done to him. As the labor court finally established that Fayaz was illegally terminated directing the Hotel management to pay him 50 percent wages from his date of termination, justice still is a far off dream.

“I was not listened to even after the court gave its decision, instead the hotel manager threatened me and asked me to leave,” Fayaz hopelessly shares.

A resident of Nishat locality, 42-year-old Fayaz had worked as a sales representative with the business house when it dealed in fertilizers. With its evolution into a hotel industry, he had served in different profiles and was given the charge of housekeeping services.

Serving with all his loyality, Fayaz was surprisingly barred from entry one day, from the gate of Grand Mumtaz.

“I was shocked on being stopped by the guards on the gate and I could understand nothing. As I tried talking to the authorities about this embarrassment, they felt no so important to reason out,” recalls Fayaz.

Ten days before his termination, the hotel in-charge ended up in altercation with management over a painting which Fayaz had claimed of being inappropriate and was accused of ‘misconduct’ which labor court deemed illegal later.

“Court’s decision in my favor brought me respite and to my family as my legal fight for justice did cost me huge time and money. However, I have lost my hope again as the hotel management denies to act upon the court orders,” he added.
