Govt Orders For Re-Constitution

Srinagar 06 July (KNB): The government on Tuesday ordered for the re-constitution of the Apical Selection Committee and Purchasing Sub-Committee in the Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS), Soura, which would have ten members each headed by separate chairmen.
While is another separate order, it said that the senior selection committee of SKIMS would comprise of five members headed by chairman and its junior selection committee would have four members and a chairman.
The order reads that in suppression of all previous orders issued on the subject, sanction is hereby accorded to the re-constitution of the Apical Selection Committee of Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS), Soura, Srinagar.
It further said that Chief Secretary or an officer of the rank of Chief Secretary to be nominated by him would be committee’s chairman; Administrative Secretary H&ME Department; Nominee of the Chairman, Governing Body, SKIMS; Director, AIIMS, New Delhi or Dean as his representative in the event of his non- availability; Director, PGIMER, Chandigarh or Dean as his representative in the event of his non-availability; Prof. M. S. Khuroo, former Director and Dean, SKIMS; Director General, Codes, Finance Department; Principal, Government Medical College, Srinagar and Medical Superintendent, SKIMS Medical College, Bemina, Srinagar would be the members of the committee.
Whereas its co-opted member and member secretary would be Dean Medical Faculty, SKIMS and Additional Director, SKIMS respectively.
However, in purchase sub-committee there would be ten members which include Dean Medical Faculty SKIMS; Additional Director SKIMS; Medical Superintendent SKIMS; Chief Engineer SKIMS; Medical Superintendent SKIMS Medical College Bemina, Srinagar; Director Finance SKIMS; Concerned HOD for which the purchases are to be made; Representative of I&C Department; Deputy Director (planning) SKIMS and Chief of Material Management SKIMS (Member-Secretary). The purchase sub-committee, as per the order, would have Director General,Codes, Finance department as its Chairman.
However, both the Senior Selection Committee and Junior Selection Committee would have the Director General,Codes, Finance department as its Chairman. Whereas, the Senior Selection Committee would have member-secretary among its total five members, these are — Dean, Medical Faculty, SKIMS; Additional Director, SKIMS; Medical Superintendent, SKIMS; Representative of General Administration Department and Director Finance SKIMS.
Pertinently, the Junior Selection Committee would have member-secretary among its four total members — Dean, Medical Faculty, SKIMS; Additional Director, SKIMS; Representative General Administration Department and Director Finance, SKIMS. However, it would have the Director General, Codes, Finance department as its Chairman. (KNB)
