Four Students were injured in a clash between two groups, one comprising Kashmiri students and the other with students from Bihar and Jharkhand at the Gulzar Group of Institutes in Ludhiana district’s Khanna on Sunday.

The clash began at the college mess. A student from Bihar, said, “The group from Kashmir is of 25-30 students and this rivalry was brewing since months. During India-Pakistan sports matches, they raised anti-India slogans but it never escalated as college authorities intervened. Since last few days, they were mocking the martyrdom of soldiers at Uri. On Sunday, the situation turned tense in the mess. We were 5-6 in number as the rest were in the hostel rooms..Our friend went for breakfast in the mess when they started passing comments. He was badly beaten….We went to save him and both groups exchanged blows. Later, they confronted each other in the lawn.”

“We believe that we are not safe here.”he said.
