Srinagar, Nov 11 : Government forces on Saturday launched cordon and search operations in nearly a dozen villages of Pulwama and Shopian districts of south Kashmir following inputs about the presence of militants.
Reports reaching news agency GNS said that forces during wee hours launched CASOs in Keller, Qasbayar, Batpora, Gulabteng, Maspora, Bamnoo, Mirpora, Kellar , Check, Nadepora, CB Nath, Badpura, Chakoora and adjoining villages of Shopian and Pulwama districts. The reports said that Army, CRPF and SOG sealed all the entry and exit points of these villages and carried out searches.
After through frisking, the searches were called off. A police official said that the CASOs were carried out based on general inputs about the presence of militants. He said no one was arrested by forces and these CASOs concluded peacefully. “No law and order disturbance occurred anywhere,” he said. Meanwhile, searches were also carried out Mattan Chowk Anantnag and in Old Town Baramulla also by forces. (GNS)
