Flood alert was sounded in south and central Kashmir Wednesday after the water level in Jhelum river at Sangam crossed alarm level of 18 feet.

“The habitation residing along the river embankment/nallah and low-lying areas of south and central Kashmir are advised to remain vigilant. Besides the staff deputed on flood duty is directed to report to their respective beats,” it said in an order.
