Elderly man becomes sixth person to die from coronavirus in J&K

Srinagar, April 25 (KNB): With another senior citizen succumbing to COVID-19 in the union territory Jammu and Kashmir, the death toll touched six on Saturday.

As per the details, a 72-year-old elderly man, resident of Qazipora Tangmarg in North Kashmir’s Baramulla distrit tested positive for the dreaded disease earlier this month was admitted on April 13 with pneumonia, hypertension and other comorbidities breathed his last at SKIMS Bemina hospital on Saturday morning, taking the death toll to 6.

Moreover, following the guidelines by the Ministry of Health the body would be handed over to the family of the elderly man for last rites.

Meanwhile, 14 fresh positive cases were detected across J&K all from valley, taking the number of COVID-19 patients to 468 including 411 in Kashmir and Jammu 57 with six deaths and 109 recoveries so far.(KNB)
