Srinagar, April 25(KNB): Two unidentified militants and a militant associate were killed on Saturday morning in operation in South Kashmir’s Pulwama District.
As per the reports, the encounter broke out between security forces and militants in Goripora Area of Awantipora after a joint team of Police and army’s 50 RR launched cordon and search operation following some credible inputs about the presence of militants in the area.
The search operation was going on when the hiding militants opened fire at the security forces, who retaliated, triggering a gun battle which killed two militants and one militant associate.
The identity of the slain militants is not known as yet.(KNB)
