Srinagar, April 28(KNB): With the deterrent being faced in updating billing and accounting, education department employees across the valley have demanded the government for issuance of curfew passes amid nationwide Lockdown.

Teachers, clerks across the valley have demanded the issuance of curfew passes as by dint of 2G internet services they have to switch to their schools or some other places with broadband facility in order to update the bills and accounts frequently.

Despondent employees allegedly said that they are facing huge problems in continuation of their official work, as without curfew pass, they are not allowed to go out and visit their schools and with 2G speed the updation of bills and accounts is not possible from homes.

One of the employee said, “I am concerned with accounting and billing work in my school. So I have to update and submit bills by the “paysys” system weekly. The update is not possible from homes due to the 2G network as I tried to work from home , but nothing was uploaded because of very slow speed.

In order to continue my official work I have to move to some other place to use broadband for better speed.

“One of the teacher said, “I got the message of my salary past week but could not withdraw it as we have to get it updated in the office and with the 2G speed it is not possible at home and due to lack of availability of the curfew passes we are not able to visit the tragedy and get it updated their.”

Pertinently, the 2G internet facility was restored in Jammu and Kashmir on January 25 after remaining suspended since August 5 last year following the abrogation of Article 370, however when it comes to the official work, Education or business it has proved to be non beneficial.

While talking to Kashmir News Bureau on phone, DC Baramulla G N Itoo manifesting concern over the issue said,” Employees facing such difficulty should visit their concerned DC offices with their genuine complaints and get their curfew passes issued.”

Whole country is under lockdown which has claimed 28140 lives and 887 deaths so far while with 20 more fresh positive cases of the virus in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir, the tally rose to 566 with 7 deaths and 137 recoveries.(KNB)
