Drug peddler arrested in Budgam: Police

‘Case registered, investigation started’




Srinagar, Feb 03 : Continuing efforts against drug menace, the Budgam Police on Friday claimed to have achieved another success by getting hold of a notorious drug peddler.

In a statement issued to KNS, the officials said that on Feb 02 at about 1645 hours, a Naka was established by police party headed by SDPO Charar-i-Sharief accompanied by SHO PS Chadoora near Panzan village.

“A person (pedestrian) carrying a bag in his hand was seen by the police party coming towards village Panzan. On seeing police party on naka duty, the said person tried to change his way to escape from facing any checking of police party, but the police party on seeing suspicious activities of the person chaised him and caught hold of him,” the officials said.

They said that during search 5040 tablets of SPASMO-Proxyvon Plus, 20 bottles of Amdiluss Expectorant were recovered from his possession on spot.

The officials said that during questioning, the person was identified as Syed Mohammad, son of Muhammad Jaffar, resident of Bunger Mohallah Ichgam Budgam.




“In this behalf a case under FIR No 05/2017 U/S 08/20 NDPS Act has been registered in PS Chadoora and investigation set-into-motion,” the officials added. (KNS)
