As the situation in Kashmir is in facade of everyone and every day new twists are coming forward in the shape of killings and in different modes of misdeed. From many years the Kashmiris are fighting for freedom from Indian regime and have lost thousands of lives. On the other side, Kashmir is well known for its literacy but nowadays the students are coming outside the Kashmir valley to complete their study in well manner because of crisis and want safe place for their dreams. Parents have dreams to see their wards as well human beings and do whatever they have in their hands to fulfill brood’s reverie.
Whether the expectations of parents are very far above the ground from their wards but regrettably maximum number of students are involving them in drug addiction and become incurable chain drug addicts. The drugs like brown sugar, afeem, ganja, fluid are used by the students to kill and destroy their career which their parents had dream about them. In other states of India the drug addiction is becoming ordinary obsession and lot of youths are involved, the question rises in mind why they are taking drugs? One of the drug addicts told me that it was his infatuation for a girl which compelled him to take the drug route. Another boy said that his girlfriend ditched him and so he was compelled to take drugs. Many others do it for ‘stylistic’ purpose as they believe that by taking drugs they would be considered among the league of the ‘high-heeled’. In the rat race for drugs many prospective careers are getting destroyed and the hope of parents regarding their wards’ successful career is getting diminished day by day.
In their choked voices, many drug addicts tell me the pain when they crave for drugs. Some of the addicts told me they hardly get the kick with small amounts of drugs and every time they have to increase the dose.
The drawbacks of drug addiction are known to all but almost 70% of Kashmiri students are involving themselves and obliterate their life. In Chandigarh almost 3000 Kashmiri students are here for studies and pursuing different degrees and almost 2000 students are involved in drug addiction. Their parents are sending money for their studies but their wards mix their blood with drugs and all bad activities and down their expectation into the ground. Whether captivating drugs they didn’t know what they are saying and doing and how would we except from them, their life has turn out to be hell and if they want to recover they can’t because the drug has taken his place in their body.
Parents sending their wards outside have become the major issue in today’s generation, even the parents don’t know that what are their wards doing, are they use our money in good way or in bad way. From my point of view the parents should look at their wards in every day and should call the collage to know the performance of his ward. For the safety of children the parents should have to take a step and save his children from the bad company.
This article is a message for the parents who had send their wards outside for study.
