‘Action against those involved will be taken’
Srinagar, May 31: Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed Saturday while commenting over the recent attacks on telecos in Sopore said it is a temporary phase and action against those behind the attacks will be taken.
According to TKS correspondent, the chief minister while talking to reporters at SKICC here said that people of the state want peace and want to earn their livelihood with dignity. “People here now want good times. They want peace and they want normal days,” Mufti said, adding that the incidents like that of Sopore are temporary.
He said that the government would take action against those who are behind the attacks. “Yes, why would there be no action. When these things happen, they will be taken care of in a normal way,” said the chief minister.
Mufti said that the militant attacks will not affect the functioning of the government and that it will continue to serve the people of Jammu and Kashmir with earnest efforts. He added that during the past when Srinagar- Muzzafarabad road was opened, the militants attacked the TRC and also burnt the power station.
“Such attacks didn’t affect our functioning. It will not even affect us at present. We will continue to give best governance to the people. People have seen much difficulties. They now want peaceful days,” Mufti said.
The Chief Minister also trained guns against media saying it is giving undue hype to the waiving of Pak flags in Kashmir valley and that there are only some minor groups who wave these flags in some areas of valley.
However, the chief minister was quick to add that action as per the law will be taken against all those who would take law in their own hands.
Meanwhile, days after Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar ruled out revocation of AFSPA from Jammu and Kashmir, Mufti said his government would “achieve its objective” with regard to the controversial Act in the state.
Reacting to the recent statement of the union defense minister over the revocation of AFSPA, the chief minister said he knows everything and knows what to do when “Whatever we have to do, we will do that. I know everything.”
