DGP Vaid Pledges Full Support To Special Abled Sports Persons

Jammu, Jan 20 : Director General of Police (DGP), Dr. S. P. Vaid has pledged full support of JKP in augmenting sports facilities for the specially abled sports persons in the State.

Dr. Vaid was speaking at a felicitation function organised by J&K Samaj Kalyan Kendra and J&K Blind and Para-Judo Association. He honoured medal winners of 5th National Blind and Deaf Judo Championship that was recently held at Gurgaon Haryana.

Appreciating the efforts of J&K Samaj Kalyan Kendra, State Sports Council and J&K Blind and Par Judo Association for their selfless efforts in supporting the specially abled sports person, DGP pledged all support of JKP in buiding sporting careers of talented special sports persons. He also agreed to lend all logistic support to the proposed organization of the national Deaf Judo Championship to be held at Srinagar later this year.

Dr. Vaid, on this occasion diected Vushu Coach from JKP, Kuldeep Handoo to coordinate initiatives of JKP with the Para Judo Association and Sports Council under Civic Action Programme. He mentioned that J&K team (seniors) also won the overall runners up trophy in the country.

S. S. Wazir, former ADGP, Kulbushan Jandial, former Member J&K PSC, Ranjit Kalra, Vice Chairman Sports Council Jammu and President of J&K Blind & Para Judo Association, H. N. Raina, J. K Vaid, Smt. Retika Salalthia and Suraj Dhan Singh Sports Council Juo Coach, Munish and Vardhan Rajput Team Managers were present on the occasion.

Eartlier, S. S. Wazir, Ranjit Kalra and Roshan Bhan, Principal Hearing Handicaped School bried the DGP about the activities.




The persons who were felicitated include Vivek Singh, Nabeel Ahmed Dar, Rakshanda Mehak, Gunakshi Palvi, Ajaz Ahmed, Rukaya Bano, Shikha, Shubam Kumar, Rohit Kumar, and Sahil Kumar. (KNS)
