Anantnag, Dec 25 (KNB): The illegal construction goes unabated in Ladi Dahwato area in Pahalgam while the authorities are acting as mute spectator taking no action against the violators.
Local informed to Kashmir News Bureau that several illegal constructions are currently coming up in the Ladi Dahwato area and authorities have failed to take any action on ground. These constructions have been going on as some influential people are directly involved in trampling of the laws that disallow construction in the area.
Sources told KNB said that this is happening at the behest of some corrupt officials who have been taking repeated postings here and allow such type of constructions in Pahalgam area. It is a clear violation of High court orders.
People having political and bureaucratic patronage are giving final touches to their illegally constructed huts and hotels at this famous tourist destination of Kashmir despite State High Court ban, sources added.
Locals also alleged that the wildlife department has failed to protect buffer zones in their jurisdictions and added that wild life department in Pahalgam has become ‘nuisance’ for the whole area as the officials posted in this range hardly perform their duties. All these activities are said to have ruined serenity of Pahalgam.
