DEATHS DUE TO NEGLIGENCE IN BARAMULLA DISTRICT HOSPITAL:MoS ASSURES ACTION IF ALLEGATIONS FOUND TRUE

Baramulla, March 28: (TKS) Two days after three people died of the alleged medical negligence at the district hospital Baramulla, the Minister of State for Health, Ms Asiya Naqash Saturday assured strict action against the officials, if found guilty during the probe.

Reports reaching TKS said that Asiya, who visited the district hospital today to take stock of the situation following the allegations of negligent deaths, said that an enquiry will be held to ascertain the facts. She said strict action will be taken against the staffers, if found guilty of showing laxity in performing their duties.

“I have ordered an inquiry into the matter,” said Asiya, who was flanked by the Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Chief Medical officer, Medical Superintendent District hospital, Tehsildar Baramulla and other officials.

Asiya said that the government was committed to provide better healthcare facilities to the people of the state. She said that all the hospitals, including the ones in the districts will be equipped with infrastructure and machinery.

“More doctors will be posted wherever they are required,” she said.

Pertinently, three people, including two women died at the district hospital in Baramulla on Thursday due to the alleged negligence of the doctors sparking off strong protests by the patients and their attendants. (TKS)
