Srinagar, Mar 14 : Taking Suo moto cognizance of media reports regarding the death of a student in hospital, the State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) on Tuesday directed the Director Health Kashmir to file his report in this instance within one week.According to the statement to KNS, the SHRC chairperson, Justice Bilal Nazki has taken Suo-moto cognizance to a media under the caption “DOW SHEEZA DARD SAY TADAPTI RAHI KAYKIN DOCTORON KAY KAANUO PER JOUN TAKH NAHI REINGI ‘AAKHER KAR HASPATAL MAIN TALABA NE TADAP TADAP KAR JAAN DIA DI”.
The SHRC chairperson further directed the Director Health Kashmir to file his report in this instance case within one week.
Nazki directed the Director to list the report Mar 23.
Meanwhile, the statement reads that chairperson has also taken cognizance of a case titled Yasmeen Jan, wife of Late Shabis Ahmad Wangoo, resident of Shar Shaali Pampore wherein petitioner’s husband has died in an incident on 17/18th of August 2016.
Wangnoo was a contractual/adhoc Lecturer.
“This incident received wide publicity in the press and it was generally believed that he was innocent and was killed. Till date his young wife, old father and an infant child have not been taken care of by the state which speaks volumes about the system(s) of working,” the statement adds.
The chairperson viewed the matter seriously and directed Secretary to Government Education Department Civil Secretariat, Jammu, Director School Education Kashmir and also to Deputy Commissioner Pulwama to file their report back to the commission within two weeks.
Besides, the commission expects the government will consider the case of the petitioner for appointment as well as for payment of compensation and take a final decision within fifteen days and report back the commission. List on 29-03-2017. (KNS)
