Srinagar 24 April (KNB): Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday said that a complete corona curfew would be observed in the Union Territory of J&K from 24th April 8pm till 6 am of Monday, April 26.
The decision came from the LG through his office twitter handle in which he said that (the) Complete Corona curfew to be observed in the Union Territory from 8PM, 24th April (Saturday) till 6AM, April 26 (Monday).”
He further said that the essential and emergency services to be allowed. All market, commercial institutions will remain closed (sic).
It is pertinent to mention that the tweet came at the time when the UT is witnessing a spike in Covid19 cases.
However, LG had of late also announced some covid control measures and said that only 50% shops in Market complexes / Bazaars / Malls within the Municipal limits / urban local body limits shall be open on an alternate basis through a rotation system.
He also had that public transport to ply only at 50% of its authorized seating capacity keeping in view the Coronavirus.
Besides today’s order from LG to impose a corona curfew from 8pm (Saturday) till 6am of 26th April (Monday), the night curfew is already in place across all the districts of J&K with its timing from 10pm to 6am. (KNB)
