‘Ladakh records season’s coldest night’

Srinagar, Nov 14 : While the continuous dry spell continues to grip Kashmir under cold wave, the Ladakh region witnessed this winter’s coldest night.




The temperature at the two stations Leh and Kargil dipped several degrees below the freezing point.
“Leh recorded a minimum temperature of minus 6.3 degrees Celsius last night and was the coldest place in the state,” an official in weather department told KNS.

The Kargil town also recorded a sub-zero temperature at minus 5.2 degrees Celsius last night, he said.

According to weatherman there due to the cloud cover hovering over most parts of the valley, light to moderate rain is expected in the next 24 to 48 hours.

The expected rainfall would end the prevalent dry spell in the valley which has given rise to ailments like cough and common cold. (KNS)
