Clashes broke out in Palhalan area of district Baramulla on Wednesday against alleged high-handedness of government forces in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
According to the reports security forces alleged damage the mosque during the shutdown call on Tuesday.
Witnesses said that protesters took to streets in Palhalan area to protest over alleged damage to a mosque by forces.
“Several windowpanes of a mosque were broken by forces during a shutdown yesterday,” said a local.
He said police and paramilitary forces used tear gas shells to break up the demonstrations staged by stone-pelting youths today.
Meanwhile traffic on Srinagar-Baramulla highway remained closed for hours due to clashes.
