CD Volunteers train SDRF personnel

Srinagar, May 14, 2015:On the recommendation of Commandant SDRF 1st Bn, an expert team from Civil Defence led by Javaid Tinda are training State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) personnel in swimming and boat rowing at SKICC Ghat, in Dal Lake Srinagar.

The training is being imparted by Javaid Tinda, Warden alongwith Sajad Hussain Mattoo and Mohammed Akbar CD Volunteers. The training being facilitated by QRT Nehru park including Incharge Mushtaq Ahmed, Zahoor Ahmed, Mukhtyar, Ishtiaq Hussain, Jan Mohd, and Pervez Ahmed. The training course started on 6th May and duration of the course is 15 days.

The CD team has been tasked to train approximately 300 SDRF personnel, in batches of 15 in each group. The trainees were encouraged today by Commandant SDRF, Abdul Wahid and Deputy Chief Warden, Civil Defence, Aamir Ali, (Secretary, J&K State Social Welfare Board).

The CD trainers are expert swimmers and rowers as they hail from Dal area. The SDRF personnel appreciated the training imparted to them, as it would help them at the time of emergencies, since SDRF is tasked with the duty to respond in all disasters
