Budgam 19 February (KNB): One police personnel was killed and another sustained injuries in an encounter which raged during the night in central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
Officials said that a gun battle raged between militants and a team of security forces during the late night hours in Beerwah area of district Budgam.
During the encounter, one police personnel identified as SPO Mohammad Altaf, resident of Chadoora was killed and another police personnel, identified as SgCt Manzoor Ahmad, resident of Sopore sustained injuring, officials said, adding that the injured policeman has been shifted to a hospital for treatment.
Furthermore, officials informed that the operation is still going on. (KNB)
