BJP District President Baramulla DK Nehru has leveled series of allegations against what they termed influential hooligan elements who launched brutal attack against DK Nehru and his wife.
Aarti Nehru, daughter of DK Nehru stated – “When my father was returning to his native village Panzalan Baramulla with his wife, after coming back from meeting the Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal singh the miscreant elements attacked him after encircling his vehicle and pushed my mother Sushma Nehru nearly into stream. My father was badly roughed up, both mobiles of my parents broken and cash of more than one lac looted. All this happened on Thursday fifth October evening.”
Aarti Nehru stated that when she talked to SP Sopore Harmeet Singh he assured action but states that local police station Panzalan is not acting swiftly and shielding these elements .
Aarti added – “One among these criminal elements namely Seetha , who according to villagers is a police source called me but gave wrong info about incident as I came to know via my parents he was actively involved in this brazen attack. Had villagers not come on time these hooligans would have threatened life of my parents . Now we are hearing that police is trying to give issue the baseless colour of some money pendency and even if that was case does it mean criminal attack.”
Aarti stated that police is giving lame excuses and asking my father to once again record the statement. “We wonder where are the claims of state Government and police that we are guarding minority hindus in kashmir and if this can happen to an influential family like ours then it clearly suggests that we live in a police state.”
