‘Bandipora becoming milk bowl of Kashmir’

‘Breedable cow population over 89000, milk production to cross 1,00,000 tons this fiscal’

Srinagar | Mar 28: The annual milk production in Bandipora district is expected to touch 102 thousand tons this fiscal while the total population of breedable cows in the district has gone upto 89000.




This was stated during a training-cum-awareness camp organized by Animal Husbandry Department under ATMA at Town hall Bandipora with Chief Executive Officer Livestock Development Board Kashmir, Additional Deputy Commissioner Bandipora was the chief guest while as senior doctors, WUCMA officers and members besides a sizeable number of farmers participated in the camp.




Farmers on the occasion were sensitized about various schemes and were asked to avail benefits from these schemes. It was given out that in view of Wullar conservation, 4000 to 5000 kanals of land would be brought under the cultivation of African Tall Maize and MP Cherry in the district for which seeds and medicines especially dozing material and ecto-parasites medicines are being provided to farmers for free of cost.

Later, seed and medicines were distributed among the farmers. (PTK)
