Free Ration kits provided to 27031 persons
BANDIPORA, APRIL 18: Continuing its efforts to reach out to the needy, the District administration, Bandipora distributed free ration among the needy, destitute, distressed and non-local laborers stuck in the district to ensure that they do not face any shortage of food material during the ongoing lockdown, amid Covid-19.
The Deputy Commissioner(DC), Bandipora, Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza said that so far 27031 persons have benefitted including 1011 migrant laborers who are stuck in the district. He said the ration of dry rice, vegetables, Aata, Cooking Oil and spices is provided to the needy, after every eight days and so far 1011 migrant labourers have been provided the food kits thrice. He said NGOs, private institutions and several individuals have also assisted the administration by providing food kits.
He said that in view of lockdown in the district, there are numerous people who need help and Mir Tajamul has been nominated as nodal officer for providing food and other essentials to the needy people in the district.
A team of doctors accompany the distribution teams to conduct medical check up of non-local laborers and aware them about the COVID-19 and precaution they need to take to avert the disease.
