J&K Government acts swiftly on Inam Un Nabi’s concern of traders

 

Traders lauded LG GC & Inam Un Nabi

Srinagar, April 18 : In a reply to the grievance filed by prominent social activist Inam Un Nabi in LG’s Grievance Cell (LGGC) Kashmir about the problem faced by the traders, The Nodal Officer of J&K Bank has said that Bank has waived off rentals on POS terminals both working on GPRS and MPOS for the period August 2019 to January 2020

On 17th April, Inam Un Nabi issued a statement where he showed concern about the miseries of traders and questioned the banks especially the J&K Bank that how banks are deducting the monthly rentals of POS machine despite the fact that under lock-down almost since August 5 with no internet facility initially and then 2g speed which is good for nothing that too when there’s barely any footfall and finally now when there is pandemic.

Soon after the Press Statement, Inam filed grievance of Traders in Lt. Governor’s Grievance Cell Kashmir where it was immediately forwarded the complaint to J&K Bank nodal officer.

This afternoon JK Bank replied to the matter raised by Inam Un Nabi and stated that “The JK bank as a goodwill gesture waived off rentals on POS terminals both working on GPRS and MPOS , for the period August 2019 to January 2020. This concession has been provided to those customers which has not done any transaction on POS . All this was done inspite of the fact that Bank has to bear the entire costs to the vendor whether machine used or not. Now with COVID we shall have to review the position stated bank”.
