Back to village programme starts in Kashmir, Villagers term it as good step

Srinagar, June 21(KNB): The Jammu and Kashmir government has started Back to village Programme across the state from June 20 which will continue for seven days at all panchayats of the state.

 

The programme is aimed at developmental efforts in rural areas through community participation where entire administrative apparatus of the state government are going to visit all the Panchayat halqas and will  highlight five main problems from each Panchayat.

 

While continuing the programme many officers visited panachayats of different district as such a group of officers visited Bandipora where Panchs along with locals discussed their problems with the Officers.

 

A group of locals said,” Back to the village programme is the good step taken by the government if it is worked according to the statement, we are having lot of problems including developmental issues and we discussed with the officers who visited our purchayat, we hope that our problems will be redressed soon.”

 

Talking to Kashmir News Bureau Senior journalist Rameez Makhdoomi said, “Back to Villages is an essential component of grassroots governance in which the paramount is the concern of distressed human of villages, if the Government officials get a very good salary then making them leave there cozy chambers to serve people in the distant areas is a very welcome initiative. The precaution should be taken that the distance travelled by the Government officials should be manageable and not exceed the hundred kilometers mark.”(KNB)
