MLA Kishtwar Sunil Kumar may get cabinet berth as health minister
Srinagar | Mar 31: With squabbling over portfolios between BJP and BJP reportedly continuing ahead of the much needed government formation, BJP’s strong ally and MLA Handwara Sajjad Gani Lone will this get a plum ministry, sources confirmed.
However many legislators in BJP have opposed Sajad’s inclusion in the cabinet but under pressure from New Delhi, the state BJP has been asked to keep mum and stop creating barriers between BJP and Sajad Lone’s People’s Conference (PC).
“New Delhi has asked the state BJP leadership that “PC is a trusted ally of BJP,” a top BJP insider said.
People on social networking sites had poked fun at Sajad Lone after he was given the charge of animal husbandry and Information Technology, in late Mufti Muhammad Sayed’s government last year, which they considered was a low profile ministry for the separatist turned mainstream leader.
Lone is the son of slain Hurriyat Conference chairman Abdul Gani Lone.
Similarly, MLA Kishtwar Sunil Kumar Sharma, who was MoS in the late Mufti Muhammad Sayed led government will this be inducted as a full-fledged cabinet minister. He may likely get the Health and Medical Education portfolio replacing Choudhary Lal Singh, sources confirmed. (PTK)
