SAMBA, APRIL 27: Advisor to LG, K. K. Sharma today inaugurated a seasonal Mandi at village Keso Mansa, Ramgrah block to cater to the needs of farmers’ community during harvesting spell of Rabi crops.
Director Agriculture Department Inderjeet, Chief Agriculture Officer Samba, Ravinder Thaploo, SDO, Tilak Raj Sharma, Block Development Council Chairman, Darshan Singh besides Sarpanchs and local farmers were present on the occasion.
The seasonal Mandi, established in the village, shall be beneficial for the local farmers in marketing their agricultural produce.
Speaking on the occasion, Advisor Sharma said that such seasonal Mandi centres are highly beneficial for the local farmers as an immediate relief from the middleman exploitation and distress sale of their produce. He directed the concerned agricultural officers to ensure that Center government’s order regarding MSP of wheat is strictly adhered to across the region.
It was informed that 7 combine reapers and 32 reapers cum combines have been received in Samba district to ensure that the harvesting season is conducted smoothly.
The Agriculture department has appealed the farmers not to burn their crop residue/ Parali and ensure that the roots of crop are pressed into the soil deeply. Besides, the agriculturists have been urged upon to follow the government instructions regarding Covid-19 pandemic.
Block Development Council Chairman on behalf of farmers and locals expressed gratitude towards the government for setting up of the new seasonal Mandi in their block.(KNB)
