BOOTLEGGER NABBED WITH 22 BOTTLES OF ILLICIT LIQUOR BY DISTRICT POLICE SAMBA

 

Samba 26 May(KNB): District Police Samba in the jurisdiction of P/S Ghagwal has arrested one bootlegger and recovered a total of 22 bottles of JK Desi Wishky from his possession.

In a statement issued to news agency Kashmir news bureau police said, “Acting on specific information regarding the sale of illicit liquor at village Chann Matloni, Ghagwal, a Police Party of P/S Ghagwal rushed to the spot and aRaked one person namely Rakesh Kumar S/o Hans Raj R Village Chann Matloni, Ghagwal who was selling illicit liquor to the general public at exorbitant rates in a meat Khoka in connivance with its owner namely Kamal Kumar (Billa) S/o Chunni lal R/O Village Chann Matloni.

During checking in the Khoka, 22 bottles of JK Desi Whisky (180 ml each) were recovered. However, on seeing Police Party, the owner of the meat shop (Khokha) managed to fled away from the shop.

In this regard, a case FIR No. 48/2019 U/S 48 (A), 48(F) Excise Act has been registered at P/S Ghagwal and manhunt launched to nab other accused person.(KNB)
