Youth tried to snatch rifle from SOG man, held

Pulwama: An unsuccessful bid to snatch a service rifle from a counter insurgent SOG man in South Kashmir’s Tral town landed a youth in police custody on Friday.

 



Eyewitnesses told CNS that a youth accompanied by two other colleagues appeared in bus stand Tral where he tried to overpower an SOG man. Witnesses said that the SOG man resisted and in the meantime, other SOG men rushed towards the spot and caught hold of the youth while according to police two of his colleagues managed to escape from the scene.

A police official while identifying the arrested youth as Fayaz Ahmed of Pastun village of Tral said that he is a driver by profession and is being questioned in police station. (CNS)
