In a first of its boosting development for ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP), an impressive youth convention was today held in Srinagar. Youth wing General Secretaries, MLA Ajaz Mir and Waheed-ur-Rehman Parra played a prominent role in pulling up the massive youth crowd to this convention.
The place Srinagar the bastion of boycott politics and the party PDP with crowd of youth in its youth convention would be making opposition parties a bit nervous .
With vibrant mood and impressive crowd the Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chief Mehbooba Mufti promised jobs to unemployed youth while making a passionate appeal for restoring peace in Kashmir valley.
Mehbooba made the appeal while addressing a youth convention at her Fairview residence in Srinagar.“You help me in restoring peace; I will get PM here and ask him to end the unemployment of my youth. You live in peace I will give you jobs in tourism (department). That is my promise to you,” she said.She also expressed her concern over stone-pelting protests.
A political watcher stated – “ After a long time the ruling PDP has been able to connect with the youth in this fashion as the youth from large parts of Kashmir made it to the youth convention. At a time when Kashmir is facing multiple issues and challenges the ruling PDP would be atleast having a sigh of relief to see youth attending its conventions . The youth leadership of PDP has been this time quiet successful in pulling crowds to this all important event.”
The pulse on ground is that PDP youth leaders especially MLA Ajaz Mir have been able to be quiet effective this time around in making the all important programme successful for it and in drawing youth from north to south in this programme .
