With a view and aim to empower and impart skill to the local women of the various villages in Rafiabad of Baramulla District, Army’s 32 RR is running Vocational Training Centre at Watergam Dangiwacha and Panzlla in which Tailoring, Knitting and Computer courses are being run.
During the lockdown, 32 RR encouraged the ladies to volunteer for making protective face masks to fight Covid-19. 32 RR provided necessary raw materials with the help of which the volunteers are making home made protective face masks and selling them to all needy people at cheaper rate and thereafter provide means for self employment as part of Women Empowerment initiative by Army’s 32 RR in Rafiabad.
As part of the establishment, Sewing Machines, clothes and other basic items for tailoring which will facilitate in training of the local women are being provided to women from adjoining areas who are undergoing training at these centre’s and acquiring requisite skill for earning a decent livelihood.
While talking to Kashmir News Bureau the Sarpanchs and various respectables of the society from different villages of Rafiabad told that the various initiatives by the Army, especially for the women, will assist in the all-round socio economic development of the region.
The women also appreciated the efforts of 32 RR in setting up of the VTCs and imparting vocational skill training, thereby in the true sense empowering them by making them self reliant.
The visionary project of the Army’s 32 RR will significantly contribute towards the overall national aim of Women Empowerment and financial upliftment of these remote regions of the country.(KNB)
