Shopian, April 29(KNB) : Three militants have been killed while as two soldiers including an officer and a civilian sustained injuries in an encounter at Melhoora village in Shopian district of south Kashmir on Wednesday.
As per the reports, the encounter broke out between security forces and militants in Melhoora village of Zainapora area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district after a joint team of forces including 55 RR and Shopian Police launched cordon and search operation following some credible inputs about the presence of militants in the area.
The Mehloora gunfight which started yesterday ended today with the killing of all three militant, while two soldiers and a woman identified as Shahnaza Bano sustained injuries.
Meanwhile, the injured civilians were rushed to Srinagar hospital for treatment
Moreover, the whole area is being sanitized by the security forces and locals have been appealed not to go near the encounter site.(KNB)
