With 54 Positive Cases, Tally Jumps to 900 Mark

Srinagar, May 12 (KNB): The number  of total positive cases of novel Caronavirus crosses 900 mark in union territory Jammu  and Kashmir, after 54 more people tested positive since yesterday evening.

As per the reports, among the 54 new positive cases 28 are from Kulgam District, 10 from Handwara,
07 from Jammu Division, 05 from Anantnag, 02 from Reasi and 01 each from Kathua and Shopian.

According to SKIMS Officials, 47 people tested positive at the tertiary care’s viral diagnostic lab in last 24 hours, Among them 28 are from Kulgam, ten from Gonipora Handwara, seven from Jammu while one each case from Shopain and Anantnag district.

Moreover, out of 826 samples processed at CD Hospital Srinagar’s Microbiology Lab seven among them tested positive including 4 from Kokernag Anantnag, 2 from Reasi and one from Kathua Jammu division.

Meanwhile, Eleven COVID-19 Positive patients from JLNM Hospital Rainawari Srinagar six from District Shopian and five from District Srinagar were discharged after their two repeat samples 48hrs apart tested Negative for COVID-19 on Tuesday.

Besides, four pregnant women suspects from various red zones of Srinagar, Budgam and district Pulwama whose deliveries/LSCS were conducted at JLNM and who also tested negative later on were discharged today.

As of now, a total of 933 cases are confirmed in the union territory Jammu and Kashmir with 442 cases active,  10 deaths and 427 recoveries so far.(KNB)
