We won’t tolerate mistreatment to students: Geelani

‘Stubborn attitude, harsh measures won’t prove of any help’

Srinagar, Apr 30: Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani denounced use of brute forces on students and teaching staff in educational institutions, saying that we won’t tolerate mistreatment and will never allow anyone to play with their future.

In a statement issued to Kashmir Scenario, condemning police raids and thrashing of students of polytechnic, Pulwama and Shopian colleges, Geelani said that state authorities are pushing our youth to wall and compelling them to resent. It is ploy to ruin their future, said Geelani and as such are provoked by forces & authorities.

Referring to the recent threat statements from Jan Sangh leaders, Geelani said, that state affaires are virtually run by Indian forces and Delhi has declared war on people. Blaming authorities for vandalism against students and while referring to Polytechnic college incident, Geelani said that authorities are hatching conspiracy against students, they are being detained and are repeating Pulwama like events in other educational institutions.

We are keeping close vigil over the situation, said Geelani and if the barbarity of forces is not stopped forthwith, authorities shall have to face consequences.

Geelani while commenting over the recent statements of Amit Shah and Ram Madhav, said that authorities in Delhi are turning their deaf ear to hard realities and following their arrogant thinking and repressive measures. Stubborn attitude and harsh measures neither did any good in past nor it will prove of any help in future too, added Geelani. Lamenting at authorities, Geelani said that instead of submitting to brute force, it infused new sprits among people in state.

Taking dig at Jan Sang ideology, Geelani categorically said that there is no space for their obsessive views in Kashmir and they can never change historical realities about state.

As a nation, we pledge that we will never budge, and will pursue our struggle till we achieve our destination, said he.

Referring to geopolitical changes around world, Geelani said that in civilized societies, there is no space for these idiotic ideologies. Change is natural & a continuing process and erstwhile Britain and USSR stands witness to this fact that corrosion and suppression are short lived, said Geelani. India is following its arrogant policies and it will meet same fate, added Geelani.

Geelani warned Indian authorities and asked to shun its repressive and egoistic approach or face consequences as law of nature is there to check roguish doings.
