Terming the ‘unification of Hurriyat groups’ as a tribute to Muhammd Afzal Guru, his family today said that convergence of the separatist leadership on one platform was a long cherished dream of Guru.
“It was a dream of Shaheed Afzal to see the Hurriyat Leadership united. Family is happy to learn about the setting up of the coordination committee”, said Afzal’s cousin, Mohammad Yasin Guru.
Yasin expressed anguish over some media persons, who according to him misquoted the family members. “Several journalists visit our house and ask various questions. But it is very sad that they are misquoting the family”, said Yasin.
One of the journalists had quoted one of the family members calling himself an ‘Indian’ but the fact is that no family member has made any such remark. “We never said that we’re Indians. The journalist has misquoted the family members”, Yasin told KNS.
He said that the family is delighted to know that coordination committee of Hurriyat and other organization has been formed. (KNS)
