The residents of waripora Rafiabad held a protest demonstration against the power development department and blocked Baramulla-Dangiwacha road for two hours.
The residents of waripora Rafiabad raised slogans against the PDD for adopting nepotism and delaying tactics in installing newly sanctioned 250KV transformer which was sanctioned by MLA Rafiabad Mr Javid Ah Dar under the constituency development fund (CDF) for an estimated cost of 4.11lakhs.
According to locals one JE of power development department namely Mr Bilal Ahmad is forcibly supplying material of said transformer to other villages and locals also alleged that today he supplied 200 meters of wire to Bakhipora village which was to be used for installation of transformer at waripora.
He is supplying the poles and wire of our transformer to other villages to mint money from other villagers””said Ab Hameed of waripora.
When contacted JE of PDD Mr Bilal about the allegations he refused and said that it is upto contractor he can use material anywhere we have nothing to do with this.
Later when tried to contact AEE Power development department Mr Farooq Ahmad over phone he didn’t responded despite repeated attempts
