Unknown gunmen fire on the police party in Dachin village of District Bandipor in Wednesday.
According to sources, police Sub Inspector (SI) Altaf Ahmad was critically injured in firing and was shifted to hospital where he succumbed to injuries.
They were on the way to somewhere when unknown persons believed to be militants chased their Swift car and opened fire on the Police party.
Soon after the incident, police cordoned off the area and search operation is going on.
