Handwara 2 May(KNB):Acting on a specific information about presence of militants, a joint Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) was launched by Special Operations Group (SOG) of J&K police, Army’s 21 RRand CRPF at Chanjmullah in Handwara.
However when security forces were sealing a particular area, the militants hiding there,fired at them with automatic weapons, ”The security forces retaliated, ensuing in an encounter.
Sources told Kashmir News Bureau that two millitants have been killed in the ongoing encounter at the Chanjmullah area of Handwara in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district.However, bodies of the terrorists have not been recovered yet.
Search operation is going on and additional security forces have been rushed to the spot to foil attempts of the hiding militants to escape from there.
It is pertinent to mention that this is the second encounter in the valley today.(KNB)
