27 Fresh positive Cases in J&K, Tally Jumps to 666

 

Srinagar, May 02(KNB) : A surge of Twenty-seven new positive cases of Covid-19  have been reported in Jammu and Kashmir since yesterday, taking the total number of affected in the union territory to 666 on Saturday.

According to reports, of the fresh positive cases 15 patients are from Srinagar including 5 from a single family from Batpora Rainawari, 04 from Anantnag District, while 03 each from Shopian and Baramulla District and 02 cases from Samba in the Jammu division taking the number of Covid-19 patients in the district to six even as four of them have recovered already.

As per the Officials, CD Hospital Srinagar Lab reported 19 positive casses of the total 470 samples tested in last 24 hours with 188 cases under process.

Among positive 10 cases reported yesterday including 8 from Jogi Lanker, Rainawari Srinagar are contacts of deceased lady, 01 from Narwara- a traveler from Delhi and 1 an employee from LD Hospital who had been already under quarantine, while today 5 cases were reported from single family of Batpora Rainawari and 04 from Anantnag district.

Meanwhile, 5 Positive patients who recovered and were under administrative Quarantine at OSC Bandipora have been released by the medical authorities in presence of District Development Commissioner Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza, with this a total of 35 persons in Bandipora and 69 persons in Srinagar have recovered while three persons have died in these two districts.

Moreover, panic rose among the employees of Srinagar Municipal Corporation as the brother of Corporator Majid Shuloo (ward Kawdara) after arriving in Valley had concealed his travel history tested positive for the novel Coronavirus, was living with his family including his Corporator brother.

With this the total number of positive cases have gone up to 666 out of which eight have died while 404 cases are active and 254 patients have recovered so far.(KNB)
