Anantnag 16 June(KNB): Two militants were killed in an encounter with security forces in Hangalgund Kokernag area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district, Police official said.
An top police official said, Two Militants were killed in an encounter in Hangalgund Kokernag adding they were Identified as Junaid and Basit Bhat of Hizbul Mujahideen outfit.
He said, Basit was involved in killing of BJP’s Sarpanch Gh Rasool Dar & his wife, a Panch on 09 Sept last year in Anantnag.
Earlier, On a specific information about the presence of militants in Hangalgund area, security forces launched a cordon and search operation which turned into an encounter.(KNB)
