Two grenade blasts in Sopore

Harkat-ul-Mujahideen claims responsibility

Srinagar, June 23 : Two explosions occurred in Sopore when unidentified persons lobbed two grenades in Sopore town and Model Town.




However, there was no injury or casualty in the two attacks.

“A grenade was lobbed at police party lead by SDPO Sopore town at around 5 pm on Thursday evening,” a police official said.

Another grenade blast took place in Model Town in Sopore.

Meanwhile, militant outfit Harkat-ul-Mujahideen claimed responsibility for the two grenade attacks in Sopore.




HuM spokesman, Hassan Askari told KNS over phone that the outfit carried out the two grenade attacks in which “Indian forces suffered casualties”.

“Before Eid the attacks will intensify, and we appeal civilians to stay away from forces vehicles and bunkers,” the spokesman said. (KNS)
