Two Drug Peddlers Arrested by Awantipora Police

Awantipora 26 December (KNB): Police arrested two drug peddlers, who were carrying contraband substances, at a checkpoint established at the Dattpora area of Awantipora.

According to the statement, officials identified the two drug peddlers as Rayees Ahmad Bhat and Mohammad Dawood Bhat both residents of Reshipora Awantipora.

Officials said that during the checking, police were able to recover 14Kgs of poppy straw from their possession.

Officials added that both were arrested and shifted to police station Awantipora, where they remain in custody and a case FIR No. 199/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered in police station Awantipora.

Officials further said that investigation into the matter has been initiated. (KNB)
