The entire nation is in the preparation of 75th Independence Day Celebration and the Machhal Bowl is also preparing for this festive mood of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav with great zeal.
Every year during summers hundreds of Bakkarwals visit this remote belt from places as far as Rajouri, Naoshera and Poonch apart from Bandipora, Lolab and Kalaroos. For the first time, Indian Army organised a Tiranga Bakkarwal Pony race to commence the Independence day celebrations in this remote belt to involve the Bakkarwals into the mainstream events. The Bakkarwals came in large numbers to participate in this pony race with great enthusiasm. The pony race was held in the morning hours and witnessed a huge gathering. The Bakkarwals were very ecstatic for involving them in the run-up event and enjoyed the pony race. At the end, lunch was organised for the participants at the village ground.
