Srinagar, June 10(KNB): Three unidentified militants were killed in an encounter with security forces on Wednesday in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district.
As per the reports, a joint team of Police, Army’s 44RR and CRPF launched a cordon-and-search-operation in Sugoo Hendhama, the operation turned into an encounter after the militants opened fire on personnel of a search party, who retaliated.
The encounter ended with the killing of all the three militants.
However, identification and affiliation of the slain militants is yet to be ascertained.
Pertinently, a total of twelve militants have been killed all alone in Shopian district since 7th June including two commanders.
Meanwhile, Mobile Internet has been suspended in the Shopian district for precautionary measures.(KNB)
