Mehbooba’s silence on this issue “Criminal”, Minister should step down :Salman Nizami
SRINAGAR , JUNE 23: Congress party today called the thrashing of a journalist as an “unfortunate” and “unprecedented” act by the escorts of PDP Minister for Agriculture Ghulam Nabi Lone. Salman Nizami, Organizing and Publicity Secretary J&K PCC today strongly condemned the brutal murderous attempt on senior journalist of Greater Kashmir newspaper Javid Malik. Nizami said that PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti being a women is keeping criminal silence on this issue and by reserving her comments about the matter, she is indirectly supporting such incidents. If she continue to keep quiet, the respect and integrity of the Women in J&K is going to be at a huge risk,” Nizami said.
He said that the man-handling of a journalist for just oppossing the lewd comments passed on her wife that too by the escorts of a Minister at his behest is highly condemnable and exposes the VIPism among the ruling party members. Security personnels of Ministers cavalcade while overtaking the malik’s car near Bagh-e-Mehtab passed on lewd comments on his wife,some of the cops hooted at them which irked the journalist. Malik who wants to apprise the minister about the misbehaviour by his security personnel wasn’t allowed to have a word with the minister and was beaten to pulp, with blood oozing out of his nose qas dragged to the local police post.
“Thrashing of a journalist by the staff of so called minister is highly condemnable. A high level probe be initiated into the nhigh-handedness of a senior journalist by the PDP Minister’s staff.
How could the women community be safe in the hands of such lawmakers who themselves are involved in such irrelevant acts” Salman Nizami added He further said that congress party is up in arms against such types of VIP rascism and won’t tolerate any such incident at any cost. He urged the Director General of Police (DGP) to personally intervene into the matter and initiate a high level probe. Journalist community must come forward and join hands in hands in order to oppose the act, so that the accused be brought to book and justice be prevailed.
