Srinagar -Leh highway measuring 434 km has been closed due to heavy snowfall since Wednesday late night .
Repors said, “After fresh snowfall at Sonmarg ,Zojila and Meenamarg the highway which connects Ladakh region with Kashmir valley has been closed”.
“Srinagar-Jammu highway and Mughal road which connects Shopain in South Kashmir to Rajouri and Poonch in Jammu region are open for traffic,” said a Traffic Police official .
According to MeT department, heavy snowfall is expected across Jammu and Kashmir from 11 -15 December due to the western disturbances that will hit the valley from 11 December and most likely will affect the air and surface transportation.
